Mötley Crüe’s New Year’s Eve Show Canceled, 2024’s Already Starting on a Positive Note

Metal

As the world gets ready to welcome 2024, some apparent production issues have forced Mötley Crüe to cancel their upcoming New Year’s Eve how, effectively saving their fans from themselves. The show was supposed to take place on December 31 at the Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms, California.

According to a statement posted to the band’s social media accounts, Mötley Crüe were unable to get things together in time to make the show possible.

“It is with deep regret we must inform you the Crüe Year’s Eve show in Palm Springs is being canceled. The very short timeframe to produce the event resulted in issues beyond our control. We look forward to seeing you all in 2024!”

Given the fact that the band announced the show back on December 1, you’d think nearly a month to get a single show off the ground would be enough time for a band as big as the Crüe, but apparently that’s not the case. This would have been their first live show since the end of their world tour with Def Leppard back in November.

The other thing that makes this situation particularly strange is the fact that the band were apparently approached to do the show, not the other way around. That little tidbit became public knowledge after drummer Tommy Lee told Desert Sun as much.

“The offer came through asking us to and we were like, ‘Sounds fucking awesome. Let’s do this!’ It’s not something we set out to do, but what a cool place to ring in the new year, right? I just love it out there, man. It’s so chill. You can literally drive two hours from where I live in Los Angeles and go to just unplug there. It’s such a great place for that.”

Thanks to this unexpected cancellation and the band’s inability to get a single live show off the ground in a month’s time, all those fans are now going to have to get drunk, countdown the seconds until 2024, and reminisce about the 80s (aka the last time Mötley Crüe were actually good) with their loved ones or something.

And while the holiday is saved — or ruined depending on your perspective — next year’s going to have a buncha Mötley Crüe in it, as they’re going to release new music after spending so much time in the studio with Bob Rock the last few months. Hooray…
