Eighteen Visions Bring New Bassist Into the Fold

Metal

Eighteen Visions are officially expanding their band with the addition of Dan Smith, formerly of hardcore band Day Of Contempt.

While Eighteen Visions hail from Orange County, Day Of Contempt are from Australia, making this an international collaboration and an exciting chapter for both metalcore and hardcore. Smith first played with the band last weekend at the For The Children benefit in Los Angeles. This was also the first time the band has played live with a bassist since 2007. Mick Richard Morris, aka MickDeth, their previous bassist, tragically passed away in 2013.

The band say about the new addition and having a bassist again:

“This last Sunday we played For The Children in LA. A toy drive run by SOS Booking and the local hardcore community. What a beautiful thing.

“This show was extra special for us. It’s the first time we’ve played with a live bassist since 2007 with the legendary MickDeth.

“We had been discussing since last summer the idea of a bassist but it had to be perfect. We’ve always felt Dan Smith would be a great fit if and when we ever wanted to go down that road. Well, here we are. We’ve known Dan for well over 20 years. 18V as well as Throwdown have played countless shows with Dan’s previous bands, mainly Day of Contempt. New vibe for us moving forward and it’s a a great one.

“EIGHTEEN VISIONS IS
Keith Barney
James Hart
Josh James
Matt Horwitz
Dan Smith”

We hope this means the band will be announcing more tours and shows in the new year, as well as hopefully putting out more music in the coming years with this new lineup.
