Kenny Lattimore has achieved a new top 10 single on Billboard.
His latest single, “Never Knew,” rises from No. 12 to No. 10 in its 18th week on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
It’s the eighth time the R&B veteran has landed in the top 10 of this chart and his second time this year.
His previous top 10 entry was “Take a Dose,” which started its two-week streak at No. 1 on the chart dated Feb. 11. This track became his first chart-topper in over 25 years after his hit “For You” spent 17 weeks in the top spot in 1997.
Here’s a breakdown of Lattimore’s top 10 singles on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart:
- “Never Busy,” No. 2 peak (1996)
- “For You,” No. 1 peak (1997)
- “Days Like This,” No. 4 peak (1998)
- “If I Lose My Woman,” No. 10 (1999)
- “Love Me Back,” No. 8 peak (2015)
- “Stay On Your Mind,” No. 7 peak (2018)
- “Take A Dose,” No. 1 peak (2023)

“Never Knew” remains at No. 11 on R&B radio for another week, sandwiched between SZA’s “Snooze” at No. 10 and Ne-Yo’s “Link Up” at No. 12.
Co-written and produced by Daryl Simmons, “Never Knew” is the latest single from Lattimore’s 2022 album, Here To Stay, released on his Sincere Soul Records imprint, in partnership with SRG/ILS Group.
In a 2023 interview with Rated R&B, Lattimore shared what he hopes fans would take away from Here To Stay.
“I hope people discover it or take away that love is here to stay,” Lattimore shared with Rated R&B about the album. “I hope people get this passion that I have for singing a love song, and they say, ‘You know what? This guy is really committed to this because it’s authentic. It’s real for him.’”
Lattimore has holiday concerts tonight (Dec. 18) in Nashville, and will also perform in St. Louis and Cincinnati on Dec. 22 and Dec. 23. Visit his website for ticket information.
