Baroness’ Gina Gleason is Laying Down a Solo for Escuela Grind’s Next Studio Album

Metal

Having just recently heard the new Escuela Grind track “Meat Magnet” featuring Napalm Death frontman Barney Greenway, you’d be safe to assume that my excitement for their EP Ddeeaatthhmmeettaall was already pretty high. But that level of hype doesn’t compare to the idea of a new full-length album from the Massachusetts hardcore assbeaters.

Yes, while they’ve been talking about that EP, they’ve been working on a full album. In a social media post yesterday, they revealed that progress on the new release was going well. Oh and that they were going to have BaronessGina Gleason — one of the coolest shredders out there — coming to the studio today to throw down a solo.

The idea that as we speak, there’s a kick ass solo being recorded at GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts with Converge’s Kurt Ballou at the helm is super exciting. For those that don’t know, Gleason’s an absolute beast at what she does, so her contributions to whatever Escuela Grind is doing will be fucking killer.

Though work is going smoothly on the new record, we’re still waiting for more details on that release. As for their Ddeeaatthhmmeettaall EP, that’s coming out on January 12, so that will hopefully tide us over in the meantime.

Along with the EP and new album, Escuela Grind has a headlining run of shows planned for early next year. You can find the full list of dates below.
