Leela James Enlists Kevin Ross for ‘Right Back in It (Remix)’

Leela James has teamed up with fellow R&B singer Kevin Ross for a remix of her single “Right Back In It.” 

Ross appears in the second verse and delivers ad-libs throughout the remainder of the track. 

The standard version of “Right Back In It” was released as the lead single from James’ latest album, Thought U Knew, out now.

The cinematic music video has over 1.1 million views on YouTube at the time of publishing. 

“My music is my art and I’m always excited to share my craft with the world. ‘Right Back In It’ is special as it highlights the importance of getting back to yourself, getting back to love, and getting back to what makes you feel good,” James explained.

In October, “Right Back In It,” produced by Rex Rideout, reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It marked her fourth top 10 hit on this chart.

Thought U Knew was released Oct. 27 via She Sangz Music, Inc./BMG. The nine-track offering includes a feature from rap veteran Yo-Yo.

The album is the follow-up to 2021’s See Me, which was ranked among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.

On Sept. 15, Ross released his EP, Midnight Microdose, Vol. 2It’s the follow-up to his Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1 EP that dropped in May.

Both projects are expected to be bundled into a full-length album, Midnight Microdose, which will contain bonus tracks. Ross’ forthcoming album does not have a confirmed release date.
