Robert Glapser, Alex Isley and SiR Perform ‘Back to Love’ on ‘Fallon’

R&B

First-time Grammy nominees SiR and Alex Isley made their late-night television debuts Tuesday (Nov. 14). They performed “Back To Love” with Robert Glasper on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Glasper played the piano on stage while two passionate singers poured their hearts into the ballad’s emotional on-stage debut.

“Back To Love” arrived on July 14 as the second song released from the season two compilation for STARZ’s original series Run the World. The project features original music composed by Glasper and Derrick Hodge.

Since its release, the record, co-produced by Robert and his son Riley, has been nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards, which is set to premiere on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

This marks Glasper’s 13th career nomination, while Isley and SiR receive their first overall nomination.

Glasper has been consistently active in music this year since he released his Grammy-winning album, Black Radio III.

Glasper recently collaborated with Apple Music to unveil his first-ever holiday project, In December. This project is exclusively available on Apple Music and features reimagined versions of holiday classics, along with three original songs.

Apart from Alex Isley, In December also includes guest vocal appearances from Andra Day, PJ Morton, Sevyn Streeter, Cynthia Erivo, and more.

Glasper will embark on a winter mini-tour with shows in December and January.

Isley collaborated with Terrace Martin for I Left My Heart In Ladera. Released Oct. 20, the joint project includes Glasper and pianist Paul Cornish, with backing vocals by Arin Ray on “Only in The Moment.”

I Left My Heart in Ladera debuted at No. 2 and No. 22 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Albums and Jazz Albums charts.

He received his first RIAA award in August for “D’Evils,” which has sold over 500,000 equivalent units.

The laidback groove produced by D.K. The Punisher appears on his debut album, November, released on Top Dawg Entertainment.
