Muni Long’s rising single “Made For Me” is still going strong. The romantic tune has landed at No. 7 at R&B radio this week, marking her third top 10 hit on the format.
Long previously appeared in the top 10 in fall 2022 on “Honey,” her duet from John Legend’s album, LEGEND.
Long debuted as a lead artist at R&B radio with her viral single “Hrs and Hrs.” The song climbed to No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. Additionally, it later won a Grammy and went platinum.
Circling back to “Made For Me,” the song has risen to No. 9 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart this week (Nov. 11). It is also No. 26 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
“Made For Me” has garnered more than 1.2 million streams on Spotify since it was released Sept. 15 via Supergiant Records/Def Jam Recordings.
Long has not yet released an official video for “Made For Me,” but the official audio is available for listening pleasure on YouTube.
“Made For Me” was penned by Long, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Jordan XL. It also was vocally produced by Kuk Harrell (Rihanna, Leon Thomas, Tamar Braxton).
It’s Long’s first single of new music since 2022’s Public Displays of Affection: The Album.
The LP peaked at No. 21 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and spent two weeks on the chart.
Public Displays of Affection: The Album was a project that combined two previously released EPs and a few fresh tracks.
The album features popular singles such as “Another,” “Baby Boo” featuring Saweetie, and, of course, “Hrs and Hrs,” which got an Usher-assisted remix this summer.
Public Displays of Affection: The Album was among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
