Singer and songwriter Mack Keane has released the official video for his single “Chances.”
Co-directed by C.T. Robert and Aye’lesha Gibson, the black-and-white clip finds Keane on a studio set where he performs emotive choreography coordinated by Brian Drake.
Towards the end of the video, Keane exits the set and appears in front of someone’s house. It’s also the only time there’s color shown in the visual.
“I really wanted to do a video that showed the real emotional expression of the song, focused on me and my performance,” Keane shares. “We thought breaking the fourth wall would help increase that raw feeling.”
Keane released “Chances” in July. He wrote and co-produced with Aabo. “‘Chances’ was definitely a labor of love. The record means a lot to me. It’s a real story and a timestamp of that period of my life, which is always the intention of my music,” Keane explained.
“The lyrics in the second verse are my favorite because it’s something that I’m still learning to do in my life today: letting go, accepting the things that I can’t control, and staying present and grounded in this reality. I’m really happy to finally get this one out in the world.”
“Chances” is Keane’s first solo song release of the year. In January, he released his collaboration with producer ESTA. titled “Super.” The latter song arrived nine months after their joint EP, Intersections.
The six-track EP included features from Joyce Wrice and Destin Conrad.
