Avery Wilson’s ‘Kiss The Sky’ Debuts on Billboard

R&B

Vocalist Avery Wilson’s recently-released single “Kiss The Sky” makes its debut on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week.

The independently-released track opens at No. 28 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart, which is currently led by J. Brown’s “My Whole Heart.”

“Kiss The Sky” is the only new entry this week. It also marks Wilson’s second appearance on the chart with the highest debut entry since “If I Have To” in 2015.

The latter tune, released as his debut single, entered at No. 30 and peaked at No. 24. The song, co-produced by Rodney Jerkins and Sean Garrett, was released during Wilson’s stint at RCA Records.

Kiss The Sky” arrived Sept. 29 via Weirdo Workshop/MNRK Records. The song was written and produced by Louis York (Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony), a musical duo who founded Weirdo Workshop.

Currently, Wilson has not released an official music video for “Kiss The Sky.” However, there is a supporting lyric video available on YouTube.

“Kiss The Sky” has not been confirmed as a single for an upcoming project from Wilson. It’s his first new music release as a lead act since 2020’s “Smoke.”

Wilson’s last project release was his 8:34 EP in 2019. “Everything I’ve been through in my life has put me in position to be everything that I am,” Wilson explained. “8:34 is my musical prime example of maturing in life, love, and self—first hand.”
