Samaria Releases New Song ‘Wish You Hell’

R&B

Rising singer Samaria’s new single is called “wish you hell,” a departure from the usual well-wishes for an ex. It arrives with a glorious accompanying visual, which can be viewed below.

Co-produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Jack Lawson, “wish you hell” is a lulling and whimsical tune that starts with a familiar melody resembling the infantile trick-or-treat sing-along. Samaria seems to hope that this suitor doesn’t fall out of favor with her because she doesn’t want to see him succeed without her.

“Never been a stickler to farewell / I don’t wish you well / Hope it sting like needle every second, only time will tell,” she sings.

Samaria shares the inspiration behind her new single: “I’ve never said goodbye without a chip on my shoulder or without the comfort of knowing I would someday be doing better than the person in my rearview.”

“Wish you hell” is Samaria’s second single release this year, following “tight rope,” which she released in August. She explained, “‘tight rope’ was a final plea to make something work at the time that was showing me exactly why it absolutely would never work.”

Samaria recently released the official music video for “tight rope.” Nasser Boulaich directed the video.

In 2022, Samaria released her EP Didn’t Start with You and spoke to Rated R&B about the inspiration behind it.

“I was going through a crazy point in time in my life. Didn’t Start With You is an accumulation of emotions I went through towards the middle of 2020 and pretty much all of 2021. I went through a really weird and crazy breakup,” Samaria noted.

Samaria has not confirmed a new project at this time. However, according to press materials, she will share new music “as she continues to explore and grow as a musician.”
