Be sure to thank a worker for your long ass weekend, as Labor Day really exists because of the struggles ordinary people went through to make our work lives just a little less hellacious. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still rough out there these days, but at least kids don’t have to work and hours are limited to 40 hours a week for nearly everyone in the workforce.
