Elsewhere on Billboard, “How We Roll” advances to No. 5 on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales, while “Forever” debuts at No. 21. The latter song also opens at No. 21 on Hot R&B Songs, while “How We Roll” slips from No. 9 to No. 11.
Additionally, “How We Roll” debuts at No. 35 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart this week.
“How We Roll” and “Forever” are lifted from Ciara’s new EP, CiCi. The project was released Aug. 18 on her label Beauty Marks Entertainment and peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes R&B Albums chart.
“I wanted to curate and set the tone of my next music chapter with this EP,” Ciara told Rated R&B in an exclusive interview. “This project is the start of really exciting things to come, but most importantly, I want my fans to know that the Ci Ci they have always loved is in her R&B bag.”
In the same interview, Ciara spoke about reuniting with Brown, who she first collaborated with for 2009’s “Turntables” from her third album, Fantasy Ride.
“It was so much fun working with Breezy because we have been wanting to work together for some time. We are so proud of what we made together and most importantly the growth we have had as artists,” said Ciara. “Even down to sharing laughs over us both having kids now, which was even funnier because I was pregnant on the video set. It’s been so sweet to see all the love the fans have been showing the song and video.”
