Samaria Cuts Ties on New Song ‘Tight Rope’

R&B

Emerging singer Samaria is coming to her senses about a poisonous love on her new track “tight rope.”

On the self-help track, Samaria decides to end a painful relationship for her own peace. “Keep me hostage just for your comfort / Taking one hundred percent of me / Got to leave you where you at / Should’ve known better than that,” Samaria sings, with a sense of clarity.

Anyone who has been torn between leaving a love they thought was irreplaceable will find this song relatable.

Regarding her new single, Samaria says, “‘tight rope’ was a final plea to make something work at the time that was showing me exactly why it absolutely would never work.”

“Tight rope” is Samaria’s first single since her 2022 EP, Didn’t Start with You. The six-track EP includes a feature from Tone Stith, as well as the single “Still Got 4ever.”

In a 2022 interview with Rated R&B, Samaria discussed the EP’s title and why it emphasizes self-accountability.

“I had to take so many moments to self-reflect, look in the mirror and just rebuild confidence,” she told Rated R&B. “A lot of things that I was blaming on this person… I had to realize that it really didn’t start with them. It started with me. I was the problem in some of these scenarios. It started with so many other things that led up to this moment, and the songs kind of tell that story.”

On Aug. 20, Samaria will perform at the Sol Blume Festival in Sacramento, California. She will be playing the Bless Stage, where Teyana Taylor will headline.
