R&B veteran Eric Roberson has returned with “Things Meant For Me,” which he co-wrote and co-produced with Brett “Bdubb” Baker.
“Things Meant For Me’” is best listened to alone, with just the listener and their thoughts. It’s a moment to reflect on original expectations and appreciate where things have ended up, which can provide a sense of satisfaction and meaning.
In Roberson’s case, he emphasizes his gift of songwriting and describes how over the years it has become tangible evidence for his listeners to heal and develop.
Regarding his new single, Roberson says, it “captures the thoughts I have shared and practiced for years.” He adds, “I truly believe we find songs more than we create them.”
It’s uncertain if “Things Meant For Me” will be a part of Roberson’s future projects, as no details have been given.
Roberson’s last album Lessons was released in the spring of last year. The album included the tender title track, which served as the lead single. He upped the ante on the track when he enlisted Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn and Kevin Ross for the official remix.
Roberson further promoted Lessons with the video release for “All I Want” featuring R&B group Intro.
At the end of last year, Lessons was featured at No. 11 on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
“I had to be seen for love to find its home,” Roberson previously told Rated R&B. “The hope is that Lessons will help people appreciate what they have and be hopeful for what’s to me.”
Most recently, Roberson joined seasoned trombonist and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bradshaw for his album Jeff Bradshaw 20. Their collaboration is titled “Make Some Time.”
Roberson has a handful of concerts coming up to perform his new and past music. Find more information on his tour schedule on his official website.
