Mary J. Blige to Headline Inaugural Honeyland Festival

R&B

A new music and culinary festival is coming to the Lone Star State. Live Nation Urban and IMG have unveiled the lineup for the inaugural Honeyland Festival, set for Nov. 11 and Nov. 12 at Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land, Texas.

Mary J. Blige is headlining the two-day event, along with Jazmine Sullivan and Miguel.

Lucky Daye, Chlöe, Coco Jones, and Inayah are among the other R&B acts scheduled to take the stage.

The performance lineup also includes Tems, Tobe Nwigwe, Spinall, Dende, and a group of Houston rap all-stars like Scarface, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Z-Ro, and Lil Keke.

Shawn Gee, president of Live Nation Urban, says, “We are excited to bring together icons of the music world with the leaders of Black cuisine and beverage, creating a culminating experience of Black expression for everyone at Honeyland to enjoy. From Afrobeats to hip-hop, neo-soul to R&B, the best in music will meet the best in food and beverage.”

Beyond music, the Honeyland Festival is centered around food and community. As part of that initiative, the two-day affair will feature genuine cuisine and drinks created by both local and national Black chefs, restaurateurs, and mixologists. Food and beverage tastemakers Marcus Samuelsson and Fawn Weaver curated the culinary lineup.

Staci Hallmon, IMG’s senior vice president of arts and entertainment events in North America, says, “Whether you’re looking to taste a sample from one of your favorite rising chefs, or looking to have a conversation about breaking into the food and beverage industry as a Black entrepreneur, there will be something for every Honeylander to enjoy. Through food, music, and local partnerships, Honeyland will build a cultural movement that will inspire many.”

Presale tickets are now available by signing up on honeylandfestival.com. General on-sale tickets will be available Friday, July 21, at 9 a.m. CT.  Schedule details for events and performances will be announced at a later date.
