Full Album Stream: Sarmat – Determined to Strike

Metal

If you like your death metal dizzying and brutal, with perhaps a side of jazz to spice things up, you’ll find a lot to like on Sarmat‘s debut album, Determined to Strike. The group blasted its way into the metal word with the Dubious Disc live ep, and this new full-length establishes their hegemony over death metal’s avant-garde outer reaches. Pay particular attention to songs like “Arsenal Of Tyranny,” with its copious use of trumpets and “Determined to Strike,” which, despite the odds, did make me enjoy the use of a saxophone. Also, if you’ve ever wanted to hear what lead guitar lines would sound like played through a trumpet, check out “Disturbing Advances.”

I, for one, welcome our new terrifying overlords. Determined to Strike will strike an unsuspecting Earth this Friday via I, Voidhanger Records (who else?).
