Ledisi’s ‘I Need to Know’ Spends Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard

R&B

Ledisi’s latest single “I Need To Know” continues to hold its place at No. 1 for a second week on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

The Rex Rideout-produced track ties with Ledisi’s previous chart-topping single, “Anything For You,” which spent two weeks at No. 1.

She achieved her first No. 1 hit and won her first Grammy (in the Best Traditional R&B Performance category) in 2021 with the latter track, also produced by Rideout.

After 18 weeks on the chart, “I Need To Know” finally took the top spot last week. It unseated Tank and Chris Brown’s “See Through Love,” which had held the No. 1 slot for one week.

“I Need To Know” is the lead single from Ledisi’s upcoming album, which is set to release later this year on her Listen Back imprint in partnership with BMG.

The Grammy-winning singer’s untitled next album will follow 2020’s The Wild Card. Her previous full-length project produced the hit single “Anything For You” and earned Ledisi a top 30 R&B hit with “Same Love.”

The Wild Card was featured on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2020 list.

Ledisi released two projects in 2021: Ledisi Live at the Troubadour and Ledisi Sings Nina. The latter album, which pays tribute to Nina Simone, earned Ledisi a Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album nomination at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022.

She is scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival in Los Angeles, California on June 18. If you don’t get the opportunity to see her then, you can find additional show dates on her official website.
