R&B newcomer Choszn has released his debut single “Diamond (I Need Love).”
On the heartfelt, self-penned track, Choszn expresses his longing for love from a potential partner who has supported him during his lowest moments. He fervently wishes to turn his dreams of being with her into reality.
“When I come around, girl I’m loving on your essence / I wanna stay right here, girl I’m loving on ya presence,” he sings over acoustic guitar plucks and soft finger snaps.
Regarding his new single, Choszn tells Rated R&B, “‘Diamond’ is inspired by a young lady who saw my flaws but loved me in spite of them. I remember experiencing a major heartbreak from a previous relationship, so once I met my new girl, she helped me heal, trust and love again.”
He adds, “She allowed me to believe that as a man, it’s ok to be vulnerable and expressive with my emotions surrounding love, which is why she’s my ‘Diamond In The Rough.’”
Born Clifford Flemmings, Choszn was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Miami, Flordia. He is signed to Kenyan Penceal’s WilPen Entertainment.
Earlier this year, Choszn was spotted with prolific singer-songwriter Gordon Chambers, who has penned songs for artists such as Aretha Franklin, Beyoncé, Brownstone and Phyllis Hyman.
“In order to be legendary you have to be around legendary people,” Choszn wrote in an Instagram caption for a post highlighting his artist development session with Chambers.
