It’s album release week for Ella Mai, and she’s already off to a great start. On Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, “DFMU” posts at No. 10 in its tenth week, giving the Grammy winner her sixth top 10 single on this chart.

Mai’s newest chart action is something to run home and talk about. All six of her songs on this index have attained top 10 success. Leading up to “DFMU” achieving this grade, Mai’s last single to make this trip was “Not Another Love Song,” which peaked at No. 2.

Three songs from Mai’s Adult R&B record headlined at No. 1, some of which include “Boo’d Up” and “Trip” from her self-titled double-platinum album.

The former song won Best R&B Song at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The instant classic is also certified 7x multi-platinum by the RIAA.

Circling back to “DFMU,” it’s the second single released from Mai’s sophomore album, Heart On My Sleeve.

Due on May 6 via 10 Summers/Interscope Records, the British singer’s upcoming LP consists of 15 songs, including the well-written “Leave You Alone.”

Guests confirmed for Heart On My Sleeve include Lucky Daye, Latto, and Roddy Rich.

Mary J. Blige also makes an uncredited appearance on the outro of “Not Another Love Song.” Released in October 2020, the latter track was certified gold in June 2021.

“I poured my whole heart into this album, more so than ever before. I am overly excited for this sophomore journey. Let’s do it all over again,” said Mai.

During Mother’s Day weekend (May 6-8), Mai will head to Atlanta, Georgia, to support Blige’s inaugural Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit. Chaka Khan, Xscape, Queen Naija, Sevyn Streeter, and more are set to appear at the three-day event.
