Jon Vinyl Shares New Song ‘Favours’

R&B

Jon Vinyl has teamed up with fellow Canadian singer Avry for his new song “Favours.”

Using primarily an electric guitar and a piano, “Favours” finds a stoned Vinyl pondering how to turn back the hands of time on a failing relationship.

Although he’s only known her for a short while — two months to be exact — he’s already shifting his calendar to make time for her and a future he desperately wants.

Avry is just as eager as Vinyl, melodically singing about treating his lady to new adventures around the world, around the clock.

“Working with Avry has been an incredible experience and we’re really happy to have developed a song that truly combines our talents – sonically and lyrically,” explained Vinyl.

“We feel the record echoes the aching familiarity when one realizes that their efforts are not being reciprocated, but they also find it too difficult to move on. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did making it.”

“Favours” is Vinyl’s second offering of the year. In February, he shared “Don’t Care,” a new song he signaled as the start of a “new era in [his] artistry.”

Vinyl’s most recent album, Lost In You, was nominated for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2022 Juno Awards. It marks his first career nomination. He’ll find out if he’s a winner on May 15.

Released in fall 2021, Lost In You comprised of eight songs, including the highlights “Deflect” and “Told You.”
