PJ Morton Announces ‘Watch the Sun Tour’

R&B

PJ Morton has announced his headlining Watch The Sun Tour, which begins in late May with two dates in Australia.

On May 28, Morton will resume the trek in North America, playing live dates through October 1 at festivals and premier venues. He will perform in major cities, including Houston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Phoenix, to name a few.

Presale tickets will be available on Wednesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 22, at 10 a.m. local time on his official website

Morton’s recent tour announcement is the second phase of his road experience to support his next album, Watch The Sun. He headlined dates dubbed the My Peace Tour earlier this spring.

His appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is April 29, the same day he drops his proper follow-up to 2019’s Paul

Recently, Morton shared the star-studded Watch The Sun tracklist. The 11-track project features appearances from Stevie Wonder, El DeBarge, Nas, Jill Scott, Samoht, Alex Isley, and many others.

Morton found inspiration in part from Wonder, recording Watch The Sun at Studio In The Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana, where the legendary musician ventured to create his 1979 album, Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants.

“I think these last couple years taught us to identify what is truly important. It was important for me to tell an honest story on this album. The album is an unapologetically soulful painting about the true challenges in life and love,” said Morton.

Two singles have preceded Morton’s Watch The Sun, including “Please Don’t Walk Away” and “My Peace,” a duet with JoJo featuring Mr. Talkbox. Morton and his pals of the latter track performed their new effort on Good Morning America

At the top of April, Morton won Album of the Year at the 64th Grammy Awards for his handiwork on Jon Batiste’s album We Are
