The Weeknd Features HoYeon Jung and Jim Carrey in Music Video

The Weeknd added star power to his latest music video with the help of two blockbuster actors.

On Tuesday (April 6), The Weeknd’s (Abel Tesfaye) video for “Out of Time” premiered, which featured Squid Game star HoYeon Jung and Jim Carrey. The Cliqua-directed visual took viewers on a ride that was a mix between a rom-com and a horror film.

The video began with Tesfaye meeting Jung in the elevator of a hotel. They conversed over drinks before they took a karaoke machine around the hotel grounds to belt out the 80’s inspired tune.

Things took a dark turn when the music began to warp halfway through the clip. Tesfaye had hallucinations of a villainous Carrey in an operating room where the comedian took off Tesfaye’s face to only replace it with a mask.

Tesfaye’s DAWN FM record featured a number of spoken-word features from Carrey, Quincy Jones and Josh Safdie on tracks.

In an interview with GQ, The Weeknd revealed that he lives two buildings down from Carrey and that they became friends over their love of astronomy after meeting in the neighborhood.

“He had a telescope, and I had a telescope. He was like, ‘Where do you live? What floor do you live on?’ I was like, Blah, blah, blah. And we looked out the windows on our telescopes and we could see each other,” he told the outlet.
