H.E.R. has earned yet another plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The fan-favorite “Focus” has been certified 2X multi-platinum with more than two million equivalent units sold.
“Focus,” co-produced by DJ Camper, was originally released in 2016 as part of the H.E.R., Vol. 1 EP, which was later repackaged as a complete project and won a Best R&B Album Grammy in 2019.
In October 2018, “Focus” peaked atop on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart for one week. It was her first number-one single on this chart. At this time, the Oscar and Grammy-winning musician has seven chart-toppers on this chart.
The streaming world has been tremendously great to H.E.R., as “Focus” has surpassed more than 146 million plays since its arrival.
In other news, H.E.R. was named the new global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. She also was recently announced as the Impact Award recipient for the 2022 Billboard Women in Music Awards hosted by Ciara.
H.E.R., who is set to play Squeak in the forthcoming musical adaptation of The Color Purple, has several 2022 nominations, including iHeartRadio Music Awards and Grammy Awards, for her debut album, Back of My Mind.
The gold-selling, star-studded album was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
