Korn’s Ray Luzier Tests Positive for COVID-19; Fill-in Drummer Announced

Metal

Korn drummer Ray Luzier is the latest member of the band to test positive for COVID-19 on their current tour, The PRP reports. Consequently, Aric Improta (Fever 333, Night Verses) will fill-in for Luzier at the band’s upcoming live dates.

Luzier follows singer Jonathan Davis and guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer  in contracting the virus on this current trek. Several shows were called off before Davis eventually returned to the stage with the aid of a throne on which he could rest. Meanwhile J.R. Bareis, who plays in Love and Death with Korn’s other guitarist, Brian “Head” Welch, stepped in to take Munky’s place until Munky was able to return.

Additionally, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu is sitting out this tour “to reflect on himself and his family.” Suicidal Tendencies’ Ra Diaz is filling-in for Arvizu.

Here’s the statement from Korn regarding Luzier:

“Unfortunately, Ray has tested positive for COVID, and he will not be playing the next three shows in Vegas, Fresno, and Oakland. Korn will be continuing on as scheduled despite these circumstances.

“We are anticipating a quick recovery for Ray and he should be back to play the Los Angeles shows with us.”
