Ari Lennox’s ‘Pressure’ Video Honors Black Women in Music

R&B

Call Ari Lennox supreme because she delivered a tribute to Diana Ross and other phenomenal Black women in music in the “Pressure” video.

In the Chandler Lass-directed video, Lennox assumes the role of the front singer of a trio in several throwback scenes paying homage to different music eras. She throws in love for Ross, along with Donna Summer, TLC, and even slightly Destiny’s Child.

“Pressure” is the first single from Lennox’s upcoming untitled second album. Her return song was produced by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Elite.

Collaborating with Lennox on the Shea Butter Baby follow-up are Missy ElliottBabyface, Akil C. “Fresh” King, and more.

This October, Lennox takes the stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for H.E.R.’s self-curated Lights On Festival. The lineup includes Maxwell, Chlöe (of Chloe x Halle), Bryson Tiller, Joyce Wrice, and more.
