Linkin Park’s “In the End” Passes 1 Billion Spotify Streams

Metal

Linkin Park’s song “In the End,” from their 2000 breakthrough album Hybrid Theory, has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The song’s music video reached the same milestone on YouTube last summer. It has since eclipsed 1.2 billion views.

Chart Data, a music industry charts, awards and industry news aggregator, was the first to report the latest achievement, claiming that “In the End” is the first nu-metal song to cross the 1 billion views threshold on Spotify. It stands to reason, therefore, that it is likely also the only song in any sub-genre of metal to do so.

I was not a fan of Linkin Park when they first burst onto the scene, but there’s no denying the band’s staying power, especially that of “In the End.” Congrats are in order to all involved!
