Emerging alt-R&B artist 4Batz has released his new single “act iii: on god? (she like),” produced by SSEVABEATS.
On the somber track, the Dallas native faces the harsh reality of a love interest who doesn’t see herself aligned with him.
4Batz sings in the chorus: “She like, ‘Boy, go find someone, find someone you love’ / Girl, I can’t find no one, ’cause you the one I love / You don’t understand, it’s so hard to trust / She like, ‘You not the one, you didn’t give me enough.’”
“Act iii: on god? (she like)” is the follow-up to the rising act’s first two songs “act i: stickerz ’99’” and “act ii: date @ 8.”
All three songs could appear on a forthcoming project, which 4batz has hinted via the cover art for “act iii.”
The artwork shows a concert poster, pinned onto a wooden utility pole, with the previously shared songs listed under The Acts, which is seemingly the project’s title. When zoomed in on the poster, there are other slightly visible acts that are crossed out, suggesting they may be unveiled at a later date.
Circling back to “act ii,” the song landed 4Batz his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January. The song, released Dec. 15, 2023, debuted at No. 77 on the popular singles chart. So far, “act ii” has peaked at No. 59. At the time of publication, it stands at No. 75 on the Hot 100. It’s also 4Batz’s most-streamed song on Spotify with over 76.8 million streams.
