There’s a Metallica Apartment Building in Turkey

Metal

If you’ve ever craved living in a building dedicated to your favorite metal band, and you live in Turkey, you’re in luck.

An apartment building was recently built in Mersin, Turkey that displays a giant Metallica logo on the roof via neon sign. But no, the famous thrashers did not bankroll this move. The building was created by Mosbah Drav, age 56, and his construction company, Nirvana İnşaat.

In an interview about the rooftop project, Drav revealed to a periodical in Turkey called VOA Türkçe that he decided to make the building an ode to the band because he’s a fan. Based on his construction company being named Nirvana, we could guess he’s an aficionado of American grunge and thrash in general.

“When I started this building, this construction, I planned to give the name Metallica. Why? Because I like this band. I like this music—hard rock, speed metal, Megadeth, Def Leppard,” he explains.

And that’s not all. This is just the first in the rock-band-inspired series Drav is doing. He claimed that he’s working on a second apartment building which will be called Guns N’ Roses and will feature a “Welcome To The Jungle” sign.

We’re honestly not sure whether this type of creativity has Drav begging for a lawsuit, or whether he’s just made a brilliant business move. After all, Metallica known they have fans all over the world. They recently became the second international metal band to play in Saudi Arabia. It stands to reason that this type of fan worship could pop up anywhere.

Either way, we’re pretty sure there’s no way to be more metal than to live in a metal-themed apartment building.
