Teairra Marí has returned with her new single “Take Me Out.”
On the track, Marí longs for her partner to spend more quality time with her outside the house. She points out how the early moments of their relationship were filled with dates that have decreased over time.
“You gotta take me out / Once in a while / Don’t get comfortable,” Marí sings.
Regarding “Take Me Out,” Marí tells Rated R&B: “This record is special to me because even in my last relationship, we started off so hot and heavy, and then we just hit a wall where we weren’t doing the things that we did in the beginning.”
She adds, “I think so many people can relate to that, so this song is about keeping things spicy in your relationship for as long as you guys are together, even if that’s forever!”
“Take Me Out” is Marí’s first single release since her 2020 track “Somebody,” released in November. In the year prior, she released her EP, Rehab. The seven-track offering included her singles “Deserve,” “Baecation” and “I Ain’t Got It.”
On Jan. 20, Marí will join Tamar Braxton at her Love and War 10th Anniversary Tour stop in Detroit, Michigan.
Marí wrote on social media: “I’ll be performing live Jan 20th in my hometown Detroit for my sister @tamarbraxton for #loveandwar10 tour. Thank you sis for including me Tamar is a true Girls Girl‼️”
