Tamika Scott sure knows how to break a man, as highlighted in the video for “Tonight” featuring Method Man.
Directed by Picture Perfect, the visual begins with Scott coming to a settlement with her on-screen ex-husband. He leaves the meeting in a rage after she and her lawyers go after everything and then some.
Scott isn’t fazed, enjoying her newfound freedom with a date night at home with her on-screen romantic interest Method Man. She has difficulty keeping her hands off him and shaking her voluptuous derriere next to him on a rooftop.
“Tonight” is Scott’s first song release of the year and first offering since the conclusion of Bravo’s SWV & Xscape: Queens of R&B.
As previously reported, Scott issued “Tonight” (originally titled as “Tonite”) as her debut single in 2019. It did not have a rap verse.
The original version of “Tonight,” which samples Phil Collins and Nas, was supposed to appear on an EP called The Movie. However, it did not materialize.
Instead, Scott dropped more music, including “Almost Over,” and released Family Affair later that year.
The six-track project included features from Q Parker of 112, musical duo OSHUN and Scott’s daughter Young Niyah.
“My inspiration for my new EP Family Affair is being able to share my first solo project with my family,” Scott exclusively told Rated R&B. “There’s a lot of talent in my family and we walk around our home creating and having a good time, so it feels good to be able to put some of the things on my project.”
Scott remastered Family Affair last August.
It’s unclear if “Tonight” is part of a forthcoming project by Scott at this time.
Solo aside, Scott continues to perform with active Xscape members Kandi and Tiny nationwide. Get more information on their upcoming shows at ticketmaster.com.
