Soundgarden’s Surviving Members Reunite at Seattle Benefit Show

Metal

Ugh, I wish I was there to see this happen in real-time. Last night (December 14), the surviving members of Seattle grunge icons Soundgarden reunited at the Showbox to contribute an encore performance at the 13th annual SMooCH concert to support the care fund of the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Watch a fan-filmed video of the whole performance below. It sounded fuckin sick.

Performing under the moniker Nudedragons (an anagram for Soundgarden, just in case you stared at it for too long slightly confused), guitarist Kim Thayil, drummer Matt Cameron, and bassist Ben Shepherd were joined by Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and singer-songwriter Shaina Shepherd of the soulful grunge band Bearaxe.

Nudedragon’s setlist:

  1. “Hunted Down”
  2. “Outshined”
  3. Flower (with Shaina Shepherd)
  4. “Beyond The Wheel”
  5. “Kickstand” (duet with Duff McKagan on vocals)
  6. “Kick Out The Jams (MC5 cover with Duff McKagan on bass and vocals)

Seattle Musicians for Children’s Hospital or, SMoocCH for short, was created by Brandy and Pete Nordstrom after having their own son do a recovery stint at the hospital after having heart surgery. Good ass show for a good ass cause. I can get behind that for sure.
