Riot Fest Shocked by Moshing During Drain Set

Metal

Moshing at a hardcore show really shouldn’t be surprising, but security was caught off guard during a Drain set at Riot Fest earlier this month.

During their iconic song “California Cursed,” vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro told the crowd to storm the band.

“Your job is to jump this barricade and to get on this stage.”

Like most hardcore bands, this type of banter, and a rowdy group of fans crowdkilling and moshing, is not uncommon. But folks at the fest were so impressed by the all-out destruction that they decided to film it.

Fans clearly took the request very literally. However, also in true hardcore fashion, Ciaramitaro was polite and thanked security for putting up with all the crowdsurfing and stage diving.

Between this and their set at Furnace Fest, Drain are getting a reputation for having the best crowds of the summer.
