Liza supports her latest focus track “Lansdowne” with a video directed by Chrris Lowe.
It begins with her on a beach, seemingly unloading her mind from the emotional weight of a past romance. In the series of subsequent clips, Liza is reminded about the fling she eventually left behind, focusing on when it appeared on the up and up. Externally, she looked blissful, but her feelings on screen also give a sense that they’re unnoticed.
Discussing the song itself, Liza told Rated R&B, “‘Lansdowne’ is a brutally honest post-mortem on a relationship that didn’t work out. I reflect on how things went wrong, realizing that my judgment was clouded by the excitement of a new romance and a partner who at first seemed perfect.”
She added, “‘Lansdowne’ is a coda to the love story that began in my first single, ‘Rolla,’ which took listeners through the giddy stage of a new, still-promising relationship.”
“Lansdowne” appears on Liza’s EP Done Is Done. The six-track set features the standout “Memorize Feelings.”
