Shane Embury’s prolific streak is well documented. From Napalm Death and Venomous Concept through Lock Up and Brujeria, the legendary extreme music force is seemingly always creating. But even by the bassist’s incredibly prolific standards, we’ve never seen output like Dark Sky Burial. And today, his solo, ambient, largely instrumental project unveils Nascentes Morimur Morientes Nascimur, its sixth full-length album in just three years.

“This past year has been hard; my mom passing away; being away from my family… life,” Embury tells Decibel. “I recently crashed and ended up in hospital but a break down can be a break through.”

Despite the trails, much of Nascentes Morimur Morientes Nascimu, which Embury considers “Part 1 of the Maze Quadrilogy,” was written during Napalm Death’s increasing frequent U.S. tours over the past year.

“In all of the chaos this album got made. It captures the ongoing journey towards an authentic life… there’s always more to come from me.”

Fittingly, Nascentes Morimur Morientes Nascimu, roughly translates to “from birth we die, in dying we are reborn” from Latin. Listen below and order a digital copy of the album here.
