Judge to Order Domestic Monitoring for Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and His Wife, Brody Dalle

Last we heard of the turbulent domestic battle between Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and his wife, The Distillers’ frontwoman Brody Dalle, Dalle had filed for restraining orders against Homme on behalf of the couple’s ten-year-old son Orrin and five-year-old son Wolf. The emergency requests for restraining orders were twice denied by judges in two separate districts, although both were set for future hearings. The couple’s oldest child, Camille, 15, was granted her own restraining order against her dad a few days later.

Homme and Dalle were again in court on Wednesday, October 13, where Homme accused Dalle of violating their October 2020 custody agreement by not allowing him to see their kids since August 26. According to Rolling Stone, Homme claims Dalle’s actions are “alienating” the children from him, and he wants her to face fines and either community service or jail time.

Dalle, meanwhile, alleges that Homme subjects the children to physical abuse, verbal harassment and generally puts them in danger. In the previously denied emergency restraining order, Orrin alleged that his father drinks in the car while driving the kids around; that there was a recent incident where Homme grabbed his private parts; that Homme engages in physical abuse such as flicking Orrin’s ears, hitting his head, poking his chest and throwing things at him; and that Homme calls Orrin fat and makes threats against Dalle’s current boyfriend.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lawrence Riff indicated on Wednesday that he was leaning towards appointing around-the-clock monitoring in each parent’s home beginning today, October 15, the next time Homme is scheduled to have custody of his two sons. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for this morning, Friday, October 15.

Dalle’s lawyer, Doreen Olson, said after the Wednesday hearing, “Her pleadings speak for themselves in the sense that she’s expressed how the children feel. We just want the children to be healthy. We want the children to be helped.”

Dalle herself told Rolling Stone, “That’s all I’m asking for, that my kids are safe. We have to protect kids. We should always protect kids.”

Homme added, “The hardest job in the world is to be a mom, but dads are important too. I’d wade through anything for my kids, even this.”

Homme and Dalle separated in November 2019 and divorced a month later. They had been together since 2005.
