When the Grammys take place this Sunday, there’s going to be a lot going on in terms of celebration and remembrance for the music industry. One of the things that happens each year is the ‘In Memoriam’ segment that recognizes the folks that have passed on since the last award ceremony.
Rather than leave the great Ozzy Osbourne to a single slide in the presentation, organizers announced that they’ll feature a live music tribute for the “Prince of Darkness” during the live show broadcast. It will be part of a larger remembrance effort led by Reba McEntire, Brandy Clark, and Lukas Nelson.
The special tribute to Ozzy will feature a performance by Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, and Slash. I’m sure “Mama, I’m Coming Home” will be part of it, but who knows how much time a tribute Ozzy will get on a show of the Grammy’s scale. In his lifetime, Ozzy won five Grammy Awards from his 12 nominations.
Another tribute performance for Roberta Flack and D’ Angelo will be performed by Ms. Lauryn Hill.
The 2026 Grammys will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 1) at 8 p.m. ET and will air on CBS and Paramount Plus.
