Full Album Stream: Sinistro – “Vértice”

Metal

Lisbon, Portugal-based doom outfit Sinistro have been mostly quiet in the six years that followed that their 2018 album, Sangue Cássia, but they have been around, releasing a live album in 2021 and forging ahead after various lineup changes. Their new album, Vértice, arrives tomorrow, October 4, but Decibel has an early stream of the album right now.

At just over 51 minutes in length, Vértice is a methodical, melodic take on doom metal, combining big post-metal riffs and melodies with the powerful voice of new singer Priscila Da Costa. Da Costa’s vocals are a major standout on Vértice, adding to the grandiose atmosphere throughout the album.

Vértice wouldn’t be out of place next to More Constant Than the Gods or Somewhere Along the Highway, straddling various subgenres and juggling influences in a way that’s familiar but ambitious.

“Six years after our last studio album, we are very thrilled that finally we can unleash Vértice into the universe via Decibel,” Sinistro added. “This is our most important record to date, made in the midst of turbulent times, lineup changes and structure changes. This album showcases our capacity to overcome adversity and come together as a band.”

Check it out below and head to Alma Mater Records to secure a copy of Vértice.
