Full Album Stream: BornBroken Break Through with Am I Invisible

Metal

We’ve been pretty friendly to and supportive of BornBroken over the years. Here, on the occasion of their 2013 debut The Healing Powers of Hate and again here when they issued The Years of Harsh Truths and Little Lies back in 2018. And as there’s very little that can keep a Montreal metal band down — not even seven feet of snow and a wind chill that’ll make Gore-Tex obsolete — it was only a matter of time before they came barrelling out of la Belle Province with new material. Their latest is entitled Am I Invisible and is a sonic soiree in waiting for those who like their metal I the neighbourhood of early Machine Head, post-Roots Sepultura, Lamb of God and Fear Factory resplendent with big guitars, bigger grooves and the biggest choruses.

Tomorrow sees the official release of Am I Invisible. Today has us providing you with an early look-see/stream of the record and its wily charms. When asked about their latest work, the band had this to say, ostensibly answering most questions anyone might have about their new record:

“First of all, we would like to extend a huge thank you to Decibel Magazine for offering the exclusive full stream of our third album, Am I Invisible. Being able to share this body of work with such an influential platform means the world to us, and we couldn’t be more excited for people to experience the album in its entirety.

Am I Invisible represents the most introspective and emotionally charged music we’ve ever created. With this album, we set out to explore the rawness of human emotion — particularly the unsettling feeling of invisibility in a world that too often turns a blind eye to individual struggles. It’s about confronting the weight of societal neglect, personal isolation and the painful battle to be seen and heard. But this isn’t just an album about despair — it’s about resilience. Every track pulses with defiance and the refusal to fade into the background. It’s a call to stand up for what you believe in, to speak your truth even when it feels like the world isn’t listening, and to find strength in the face of adversity.

“Our goal was to create something that resonates deeply on a personal level while staying true to the aggressive, unrelenting energy that defines BornBroken. We wanted listeners to connect with the themes, to feel the intensity of the music in their bones, and to perhaps find solace or strength in the chaos we’ve crafted.

“In terms of the sound and composition, Am I Invisible is also a tribute to our metal roots. We took inspiration from the metal icons who shaped us as musicians, paying homage to the thrash pioneers, hardcore visionaries, and death metal legends who continue to influence our music. You can hear their fingerprints on the album, woven into our sound, giving the album a nostalgic yet modern edge.

“Collaborating with Juno Award-winning Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) was a key part of bringing this album to life. Christian recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire record, ensuring that it hit with the precision and brutality we envisioned from the start. His expertise allowed us to push our boundaries and take the sound to new heights, capturing both the aggression and emotional depth that we wanted to convey.

Am I Invisible is an album we’ve poured our hearts and souls into, and we hope that listeners find their own reflection within the music. Whether it’s through the relentless riffs, the lyrical themes, or the overwhelming intensity of the sound, we believe there’s something here for everyone who’s ever felt unseen, unheard, or forgotten. This album is for anyone who’s fought to make their voice heard. We hope it resonates, and that our fans find their strength and their story in the chaos.”
