Eric Roberson Releases New Song ‘I Apologize’

R&B

Eric Roberson’s new song “I Apologize” expresses regret for making his partner wait for his love. The guilt-ridden tune was co-produced by Roberson, Jairus Mozee, Brett “B Dubb” Baker and Rodney Jones.

On the track, Roberson seamlessly flits between singing and rapping, crafting lyrics about lost time in search of his soulmate. “I apologize / For not finding you sooner, baby / I feel like your kisses / Were made only for me, babe / I been waiting for you love,” he sings.

Discussing his new single, Roberson says, “The song is inspired by the creative gumbo that feeds my music. The theatrical musicality of Stevie Wonder, heartfelt wordplay of Commissioned and the unapologetic low-end approach of A Tribe Called Quest.”

“I Apologize” is the follow-up to Roberson’s “Things Meant For Me.” The latter track was released as his first offering this year. Baker co-wrote and co-produced it as well.

Both tracks are slated to appear on Roberson’s next project. His last album, Lessons, was released in April 2022. The 11-track LP included the title track and its official star-studded remix that features Raheem DeVaughn, Anthony Hamilton and Kevin Ross.

Lessons earned the No. 11 position on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list

Roberson recently collaborated with trombonist and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bradshaw for his latest album, Jeff Bradshaw 20.

The duo worked together on the track “Make Some Time,” which Bradshaw described as being “inspired by people who hustle, wanting to date people who hustle.”

Roberson boasts an extensive performance schedule that spans the rest of this year. For more information, visit his official website.
