Dende Shares New EP ‘Wish You Were Here’

R&B

Emerging R&B singer Dende has returned with his new EP, Wish You Were Here.

The three-track project was inspired by his recent trip to the UK, where he longed for his love interest back home. All three songs were produced by Billy Blunt, with additional contributions from Dan Diggas and Henry Was.

The EP opens with the contemplative “Your Intro,” before seamlessly transitioning to “Slide,” featuring J Warner, where Dende flexes his falsetto over a lush production. On the closing track, “Jigsaw,” Dende sings about the chemistry between him and his companion. “We’re something like a jigsaw puzzle / Fit together good / I’d hate to lose a piece of us / So I do what I should,” he croons.

Speaking on his new project, Dende shares, “Billy and I pride ourselves on making better music every time we release. I’m happy to say we for sure did it again.” He adds, “This 3-pack is about being overseas and missing someone I loved while working on something else I love. A short story to introduce a much longer one. Wish You Were Here.”

Wish You Were Here is the follow-up to the Texas native’s 2023 project, ’95 Civic, released in March. “Releasing ’95 Civic feels like the last thing I needed to do to move on to the next phase of my life,” said Dende. “Although it’s a sad project, the time it allowed me to spend with A&R Mizz and producer Billy Blunt is something I will never forget.”

Last January, Dende released his EP Before We Crash. “The team (CXR), my producer (Billy Blunt), the creative side (Austin Smith & KB) and I worked really hard to bring a complete project for everyone to enjoy. Before We Crash is my best work so far and it’s only the lead-up to something better coming this year, so look out for us,” shared Dende.
