Corey Taylor Says His New Slipknot Mask is “Very Disturbing”

Metal

New Slipknot music means new Slipknot masks, and by the way you folks click on these articles we’re led to conclude that the clothing is more important than the songs (kidding aside, is it? food for thought). And with the band currently in the studio, the mask design process has begun as well, none important than for frontman Corey Taylor — is the dude with the penises on his mask still in the band? — who began teasing his mask a month ago, saying, “It’s gonna fucking scare kids! It’s so gnarly!”

Now there’s a new update from Corey, who says that his new face-chapeau is “very disturbing,” that it has “a devil-may-care kind of terror to it,” it’s his “favorite mask that I’ve ever put together” and that it consists of elements of his past masks (not sure if that’s literal or not).

Speaking to Andy’s Hall Pass, Taylor explained:

“It’s important for it to be a reflection of who we are in that music. And I can tell you that the mask I’m working on is very disturbing.

“It’s gonna be hard to look at. And it’ll probably be my favorite mask that I’ve ever put together. It’s little bits and pieces of things that have intrigued me, of masks that I’ve had in the past.

“And it’s gonna have a devil-may-care kind of terror to it, let’s put it that way.”

Who’s excited??? New Slipknot masks!!!

Slipknot may or may not release new music this year. But who cares? Masks!!
