Blast Worship: Necessary Death – Decibel Magazine

Metal

Where they from?
South Bend, Indiana. Last week I was all excited because I thought the Edmonton Oilers were going to pull off one of the greatest upsets in NHL history but NOOOOOOO, they just had to shit the bed like I used to do in high school (and well into adulthood). I highly doubt anyone in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area is even aware they have a pro hockey team let alone one that just won the Stanley fucking Cup. No one in Florida deserves anything good.

Why the hype?
NECESSARY DEATH, A BAND AS BRUTAL AS IT’S MONIKER. ALL FUCKING CAPS, BABY. Normally a band who names themselves after an Insect Warfare song is usually punching outside their weight class, but not these South Bend bad boys. Everything about the band is brutal, from the eviscerating guitar tone to the absolutely monstrous vocals. TBH the vocals are what really did it for me here, reminding me of Australia’s Shitgrinder and Spain’s Disturbance Project in sheer terms of inducing shivers in my deepest bowels. SHIVERS. IN. MY. DEEPEST. BOWELS.

Latest Release?
Retributive Justice, self-released. Well, well, well, what do we have here? A split EP with the grindcore meme gods Noisy Neighbors. The four songs here pack more punch than a lot of band’s full-lengths. This record will torture you, it will eviscerate you, it will win the Stanley Cup, it will win the Presidential Election and it will SEND SHIVERS INTO YOUR DEEPEST BOWELS.
