Blast Worship: Human Shield – Decibel Magazine

Metal

Where they from?
Tennessee. So I just looked it up and the MLB season starts next week with the Tokyo Series between the Cubs and the Dodgers, so I guess it’s time to make my World Series prediction. I have the New York Mets beating the Detroit Tigers in seven games. I base this off nothing but the fact that we signed Juan Soto and he’s been hitting a lot of dingers in Spring Training and I like the Tigers’ uniforms.

Why the hype?
Do you like your grind nice and DIRTY? With layers of filth and nastiness just strewn all over every instrument? Do you also think the Detroit Tigers have cool uniforms? Well, do I have a band for you. Human Shield play ferocious grindcore in the vein of Nails and early Magrudergrind. Amidst the cacophony you’ll find plenty of vicious mosh parts for you and your brethren to enjoy and possibly dislocate some shoulders. Can I get an ‘OUGH’?

Latest Release?
Sullen Population, self-released. There’s a cool little creepy midtro here called ‘Quiet’ which I find beautifully unsettling, very similar to how Jesus Piece ended their second album. Can we bring back creepy interludes? Even Discordance Axis did one on Jouhou, and if they could do it, why can’t you?
