In an age of predictability, Calgary’s Trench smashes the mold with their blend of metallic hardcore and experimental edge. Today, we’re thrilled to premiere the music video for “MY COLD BLOOD,” the latest single from their monumental album, Between Inverted Worlds, released via New Damage Records in August.

The track features Johannes Persson of Cult of Luna, whose towering vocal performance injects visceral intensity into Trench’s already blistering sound. The collaboration grew from mutual admiration after Persson included Trench’s Encased in Chrome EP on his top albums list of 2023. That recognition led to an invitation to perform at his Beyond The Red Shift festival in London and, ultimately, this powerful team-up on “MY COLD BLOOD.”

The video captures the track’s brooding ferocity, pulling viewers deep into the chaotic, cinematic soundscapes Trench has mastered. Crushing breakdowns, atmospheric swells, and genre-defying experimentation coalesce in a standout showcase of the band’s artistic evolution.

“We presented Johannes with the song ‘MY COLD BLOOD,’ and the rest is history,” the band shares. “We’re huge Cult of Luna fans, so it’s truly an honor to have Johannes involved in our album.”

Between Inverted Worlds has been one of 2024’s defining heavy releases, boasting a stellar guest list that includes Andrew Neufeld (Comeback Kid), Kyle Ball (Wake), and Dallas Green (City and Colour)—packed with heavy grooves, haunting atmospheres, and cinematic flourishes.

Experience the exclusive premiere of “MY COLD BLOOD” below—brace yourself for a track that chills as deeply as it punches.
