Gridlink Released Their New Single “Coronet Juniper,” Album Due Out This September

Metal

After nearly a decade without any new music, New Jersey technical grindcore act Gridlink are back with not only a new single, but the promise of a new album.

Released earlier today, the track is titled “Coronet Juniper,” which also serves as the title track for the new album. Set for release on September 15 through Willowtip Records, the album promises 11 new tracks to blow your ear drums out to.

As you can hear in the single below, “Coronet Juniper” is 95 seconds of pure, unadulterated chaos. “Coronet Juniper” offers the kind of pounding drums, jagged sharp guitars, and oppressive vocals that only living in the Garden State can provide.

Honestly, just the fact that we’re getting new Gridlink is super exciting. The band’s last release, Longhena, was billed at the time as their final record. With its release and the end of their touring days behind them, it seemed that 2014 was the year Gridlink hung it up.

Thankfully, Gridlink walked back their previous stance and brought their style and sound back. The band is comprised of guitarist Takafumi Matsubara, vocalist Jon Chang, drummer Bryan Fajardo, and bassist Mauro Cordoba.

Coronet Juniper will be released on September 15 via Willowtip Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
