Queen Naija has received a new certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Her deluxe debut album, Missunderstood…Still, has reached gold status in the U.S. with over 500,000 equivalent units sold.
It’s her second project to achieve gold certification, following her 2018 self-titled debut EP, which was certified in November 2020.
Missunderstood…Still was released on April 15, 2021, via Capitol Records. It arrived nearly six months after the original Missunderstood and included seven bonus tracks, including a previously released remix of “Butterflies, Pt. 2” featuring Wale.
Standard album guests Lucky Daye, Kiana Ledé, Jacquees, Lil Durk, Latto, Toosii, Russ, and Pretty Vee are featured on the Missunderstood…Still tracklist.
Additionally, “Lie To Me” was released with the album announcement and an official video followed. With over 21 million streams on Spotify, the collaboration with Lil Durk scored gold certification in September 2021.
Missunderstood, released Oct. 30, 2020, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, with 34,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week. It also entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 9.
Queen Naija’s latest musical output was the recent “No Fake Love” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again. This song is a follow-up to her two other 2023 releases, namely “Words of Affirmation” and “Let’s Talk About It.”
