Miguel has returned with “Give It To Me,” his first proper solo single since 2021, via ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records.
Produced by Scoop DeVille, “Give It To Me” is a breezy yet sensual track that echoes Miguel’s desire to take things to the bedroom.
“Your body on inferno, inferno/ Your mind on my, my, my / But you deserve to let go, to let go / To let yourself unwind,” he flirtatiously sings in the first verse.
“Give It To Me” marks Miguel’s first official single since his 2021 EP, Art Dealer Chic 4, which included the lead track “Funeral,” released in 2019.
“Art Dealer Chic is the mindset to invest our beliefs in thoughts and emotions that add the most value in our lives,” he explained. “The same way an art dealer would dictate the value of a particular work, we dictate and curate what thoughts and emotions are worth our time and energy.”
In 2017, Miguel released his third album, War & Leisure. The RIAA gold-certified album included the singles “Sky Walker” featuring Travis Scott and “Come Through and Chill” with J. Cole and Salaam Remi.
“Sky Walker” reached No. 1 at urban radio, marking his first chart-topper as a lead artist since 2012’s “Adorn” from his sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream. It also peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart.
“Come Through and Chill” also reached top 10 territory on the Hot R&B Songs chart, peaking at No. 8.
Miguel’s latest single comes amid the recent resurgence of his 2010 single “Sure Thing” from his debut album, All I Want Is You. The heartwarming song has been used in 23 million TikTok videos and counting.
“Sure Thing” peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week of April 15, 2023. It’s now his highest-charting solo single to date and ties with his “#Beautiful” duet with Mariah Carey, which peaked at No. 15 during the week of June 22, 2013.
In response to the song’s success, Miguel unleashed a sped-up version in January; it has nearly 75 million streams on Spotify.
