Serj Tankian Releases Artsy Black-and-White Visualizer for “The Race”

System of a Down frontman and solo artist in his own right Serj Tankian is putting out an avant-garde, more electronic solo album later this month and as such, he’s slowly releasing a new track from the EP Perplex Cities as a result.

Earlier today, the instrumentalist/artist/activist released a black-and-white visualizer for “The Race,” which you can check out below.

As you can tell from the song in question, Tankian’s latest output is experimental in nature, yet still profoundly reflective of the Armenian singer’s original style.

Over the last few weeks, Tankian has been revealing the entirety of his EP through that Arloopa app, with the intent being that he’d eventually begin trickling out the new songs through other means. This is the second song to be released outside of the augmented reality app.

“I’m always trying to create new and interesting ways to connect with people via my music. We made some amazing videos for the last EP Elasticity, so I wanted to try something different for Perplex Cities. I love the idea of appearing in the room with someone listening to my music. It’s intimate, fun, and different.”

Perplex Cities will be out on October 21 and available to everyone via popular streaming platforms.
