Ex-Cannibal Corpse Vocalist Chris Barnes Claims the Band Are Gouging Fans with Ticket Prices, Says “Every Death Metal Singer Sucks Except Me”

Metal

Man, we don’t know what hair got up founding Cannibal Corpse vocalist Chris Barnes, but that dude has decided to throw some hard-ass shade at his old bandmates in public. First, the dude claimed that he was made “physically ill” by watching a YouTube roundtable featuring his replacement, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, and that he “despises what the genre has become.” Now, he’s gone on Twitter and called out the band for charging too much money for tickets on their upcoming tour.

A fan on Twitter posted a tweet with an image reading, “How the fuck is it $105 per ticket for Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, Revocation and Shadow of Intent at Ace of Spades in Sacramento Mar 10th? Where do you get reasonable tickets?” To which Barnes responded, “Yikes! Price gouge much.” And then a couple of crying-laughing emojis.

Chris also posted to his Facebook saying simply, “Every death metal singer sucks except me.” We’re pretty sure this is a joke, but given some of the anti-vax meme content on his Twitter, we’re not positive.

Here’s the thing: a quick look at Live Nation’s ticket portal for Cannibal Corpse’s tour shows that each venue has different prices. For example, it looks like you can catch this tour in Reading, PA, for under $30. Same with Phoenix. So if you’re getting fucked in Sacramento, well, there are plenty of people to blame other than Cannibal Corpse. Meanwhile, we’re coming out of a pandemic. Throw some bands some fucking money.
