Angaleena Presley + Jordan Powell — Country Love Stories

Country

On May 22, 2012, Pistol Annies singer and solo artist-on-the-rise Angaleena Presley married Jordan Powell, whom fans might recognize from his work as a producer on American Middle Class, Presley’s blockbuster 2014 album. The two wed in a private ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyo., after getting engaged in 2011.

It’s unclear exactly how Powell and Presley met, though no doubt, fate intervened at some point when Powell was serving as Miranda Lambert’s tour manager. It was long rumored that a feud between Presley and Lambert, a fellow Pistol Annies member, was behind the trio’s hiatus; in a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, though, Presley called that the “craziest” among a slew of rumors surrounding a lack of new Pistol Annies material.

According to an interview with the Tennessean, Powell and Presley bucked tradition when it came to their nuptials: The bride and groom decided to enjoy breakfast in bed instead of staying separated the morning of the big day. Presley’s gown, which she shopped for with her Annies bandmates on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, was modern and short.

Of their relationship, Presley isn’t afraid to point out what annoys her about her husband. In a 2014 interview with The Boot, she described a typical silly fight, familiar to anyone with a long-term partner:

“Mine says, [in a hushed tone] ‘Stop, just stop.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re gonna see stop in a minute!’” Presley explains. “When he says that, it puts me into orbit. The calmer he stays, the madder I get. It’s like he says something so mean, and then when I come back, ‘Stop.’ ‘Well, no! In fact, I will go even faster now that you told me to stop!’”

Presley has a son, Jed, from a previous marriage, and in 2019, she and Powell welcomed their first child together. Phoenix Joeleena Jean Powell arrived on Jan. 22 at 7:49AM.
